Job Overview

Objective: To skillfully prepare and cook food items as directed by the Shift Supervisor while following the guidelines and procedures outlined in the Food Service Standards Manual. Tasks should be executed efficiently, maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities:

Main Duties:

  • Organizes the preparation area, gathers necessary utensils, and prepares food mixtures.
  • Ensures that production schedules are accurately completed and displayed.
  • Inspects all cooking equipment and promptly reports any issues to the Shift Supervisor.
  • Maintains proper oil levels in fryers and adjusts as necessary for optimal cooking.
  • Regularly cleans and filters fryers in accordance with safety protocols.
  • Prepares sufficient quantities of food to meet operational demands.
  • Cooks all menu items as required by business needs and under the guidance of the Shift Supervisor.
  • Guarantees that all food items comply with quality standards and safety regulations, including adherence to specified holding times.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a tidy work environment by following 'clean-as-you-go' practices and adhering to sanitation standards.
  • Confirms that all necessary ingredients and supplies are available in the preparation area.
  • Ensures the cooler is organized and clean.
  • Completes any other tasks assigned by the Shift Supervisor.

Physical Requirements:

Must be capable of performing the following:

  • Standing and walking on hard surfaces for extended periods while preparing and cooking food.
  • Lifting and moving items weighing between 35 to 50 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
  • Occasionally lifting and disposing of trash bags weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Using equipment such as batter tables and cleaning machines effectively.
  • Climbing to reach items on high shelves or in storage areas as needed.
  • Reaching, bending, and squatting to access items at various heights.
  • Handling a variety of food items and ingredients with care.
  • Communicating effectively with team members and management to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintaining awareness of surroundings to perform tasks efficiently.
