Job Title: Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at WellSpan Health. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our Respiratory Care Service.

Job Summary:

The Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for administering various types of respiratory treatments to patients, assessing and evaluating respiratory care, and developing and evaluating respiratory care services. This role requires strong communication and customer service skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer respiratory treatments to patients, including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and mechanical ventilation.
  • Assess and evaluate respiratory care needs of patients, including identifying and implementing appropriate respiratory care activities, observations, and actions.
  • Develop and implement respiratory care plans, including creating and updating policies and procedures.
  • Provide education and training to patients, families, and healthcare staff on respiratory care and disease management.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care, including charting and documentation.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development and implementation of new programs and services.
Requirements:
  • Baccalaureate degree from an AMA-accredited Respiratory Therapist Program or satisfies the educational requirements for a registered therapist as established by The National Board for Respiratory Care or Pennsylvania Medical Board.
  • Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care and licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the Pennsylvania Medical Board required.
  • Current CPR certification required. NRP required; credential must be obtained within six (6) months of hire date. ACLS preferred.
