POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Dining Services Associate is accountable for delivering meals to residents and guests in a polished and appealing manner. This role ensures a superior dining experience in a restaurant-style setting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Handles all resident information, including their condition and family details, with the utmost confidentiality.
  2. Adheres to established corporate and departmental policies and maintains recognized standards and practices.
  3. Assists in the arrangement of meal trays by organizing condiments, silverware, food items, beverages, and special requests.
  4. Prepares dining areas by setting tables with linens, decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates, utensils, and menus.
  5. Serves meals on trays and/or at tables in an appealing and appetizing manner.
  6. Waits on tables in a restaurant-style manner, utilizing proper serving etiquette.
  7. Contributes to creating a positive dining atmosphere for residents and guests.
  8. Assists in meal preparation as needed.
  9. Delivers tray carts and nourishment to nursing areas or floors.
  10. Responsible for the daily cleaning and sanitation of dishes, utensils, equipment, and workspaces by following established sanitation protocols.
  11. Assists with special dining events (banquets, teas, etc.).
  12. Performs additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS:

Previous food service experience is preferred.

Ability to comprehend and follow both verbal and written instructions.

High standards of personal hygiene and cleanliness.

Capability to repeatedly push tray carts and lift or carry a minimum of 25 pounds throughout an eight-hour shift.

Ability to stand and walk for the duration of an eight-hour shift.

Must treat residents and the public with kindness and respect in a friendly manner.

Familiarity with point of service systems is preferred.
