Position Summary:
A Registered Nurse and Licensed Practical Nurse are essential members of the healthcare team, delivering expert nursing care to patients following an established Physician Plan of Treatment, in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, while adhering to the policies and procedures of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Ability to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Valid and current nursing license from the State Board of Nursing.
- At least one year of experience in an acute care environment.
- Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification.
- Mature and responsible character.
- Up-to-date knowledge of disease processes, emergency interventions, and healthcare measures relevant to each patient.
- Strong observational nursing judgment and effective communication skills.
- Good physical and mental health.
- Completion of the agency's employment process and orientation.
Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Delivering skilled nursing care.
- Monitoring and assessing client and family situations.
- Communicating client changes and needs to the physician and Nursing Supervisor.
- Implementing preventive, rehabilitative, and therapeutic nursing measures.
- Educating on safety precautions, medication actions and interactions, and appropriate healthcare measures.
- Administering medications, treatments, and other modalities as prescribed by the attending physician.
- Maintaining current skills and knowledge through continuing education programs.
- Accurately documenting and submitting timely nursing notes and reports in line with agency and facility standards.
- Collaborating with facility administration and personnel.
Performance Competencies:
- Ability to provide nursing care within the guidelines of the State Nurse Practice Act and agency policies.
- Capability to initiate and implement a realistic care plan.
- Continuous assessment of a client's evolving physical, emotional, and social condition.
- Effective communication skills.
- Proficiency in documenting relevant information and submitting records per agency policies.
