Job Overview

Brazoria County Emergency Services District No. 3 is currently seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Advanced EMT/Paramedic to join our team.

Compensation Package

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary, with the opportunity to earn up to $82,763.20 annually or $24.87 hourly, depending on qualifications and experience.

Job Responsibilities

The primary function of this role is to deliver exceptional clinical care to patients in critical care transport situations, ensuring the highest level of safety and professionalism at all times.

  • Deliver clinical excellence in patient care during all phases of transport, from initial contact to handover to receiving medical facility staff.

  • Acquire and maintain extensive knowledge of policies, procedures, and protocols related to BCESD 3 EMS Division.

  • Participate actively in pre- and post-transport briefings with team members, including communication specialists.

  • Maintain a readiness to transport culture, ensuring timely shift checks, restocking of bags and ambulance, clean and operational equipment, and a safe approach to all environments.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Current Texas Department of State Health Services EMT certification (for Advanced EMT) or Paramedic licensure/certification.

  • American Heart Association certifications for Basic Life Support, NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800.

  • Current and valid State Driver's License.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

This role requires:

  • Ability to don and effectively wear required Department-issued personal protective equipment, including respirators, protective eyewear, goggles, facemasks, boots, helmet, bunker coat and pants, ballistic vest, protective jackets, and gloves.

  • Unimpaired mobility, including ability to quickly respond to the ambulance, access patients in difficult terrain, climb stairs, work in close and dangerous environments, and carry equipment and patients weighing up to 180 pounds.

  • Physical abilities to perform strenuous tasks, such as CPR, lifting, and moving equipment and patients in various environmental conditions.
