Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Aerial Foreman to join our team in Coos Bay, Oregon. The successful candidate will have knowledge of lashing cable and fiber, completing pole transfers, and storm damage.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and/or direct the daily work performed by 3 to 4 man crew.
  • Ensure that all needed tools and equipment are available at the jobsite.
  • Assign work to the crew members in the field.
  • Work from engineered blue prints and complete all necessary paperwork to track and bill for the work performed.
  • Install aerial and underground cables and/or support members in conformance with all applicable codes, regulations, and customer specifications.
  • Climb utility poles and/or use aerial lift truck to place cables on poles per system design.
  • Assure that door-tagging and resident notification of our construction activities has been completed prior to starting each workday.
  • Resolve customer/resident complaints related to construction activities performed by crew working under your supervision.
  • Ensure daily inspection and maintenance of fleet vehicles and equipment assigned to crew working under your supervision is performed and documented.
  • Drive company vehicles as needed to jobsite.
Qualifications
  • Must be able to perform the above for at least 8 hours per day 5 days per week.
  • May be required to work over-time; after hours; on weekends, for emergencies or on-call.
  • Possess a valid driver's license (Class "C" minimum) or be eligible and willing to acquire any needed drivers license (including "commercial class" license).
  • Able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card.
  • Duties outlined in this position will require the employee to stand, crouch, sit, bend, use hands and fingers to handle or feel as well as reaching with hands and arms to spaces both high and low.
  • The employee will be standing, walking, climbing, balancing, crawling, crouching, lifting, holding or stooping while on shift.
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions which can include but is not limited to: extreme heat and cold temperatures; inclement weather such as wind, rain, snow, sleet and dust as well as adverse driving conditions including wet roads, icy roads, and fog.
  • Must be a "certified pole climber" or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber.
  • Must own all hand tools and climbing gear required to perform the daily functions of this position.
