About the Role

As a Recreation Therapist with Rehab Without Walls Neuro Rehabilitation, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals with complex neurologic injury and orthopedic rehabilitation needs. Our revolutionary program moves therapy outside the walls of institutional settings and into the natural home and community environment, promoting greater health through recovery.


We are seeking an experienced Recreation Therapist to join our team in Saginaw, MI. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating recreation activities, functional leisure skills, and leisure education for our clients.


Responsibilities
  • Assess Client Needs: Conduct thorough evaluations to assess the needs of our clients and set measurable objectives in conjunction with the rehabilitation team.
  • Design Therapeutic Programs: Develop and implement customized treatment plans that deliver real results and exceed patient expectations.
  • Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with physicians, other members of the rehabilitation team, and community service organizations to develop resources for recreational programs.
  • Provide Training and Education: Analyze and document the results of any training, and provide guidance to the Rehabilitation Specialist/Certified Nursing Assistant in fulfillment of the plan.

Requirements
  • Credentials: Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification is required, along with a Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation Therapy or equivalent, plus a minimum of two years therapeutic therapy experience.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Good organizational and communication skills, ability to function with minimum supervision, reliable transportation, and knowledge of complex neurologic injury and orthopedic rehabilitation techniques.
