Job Overview

Universal Industries is seeking a skilled welder to join our team in a fast-paced sheet metal manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and galvanized materials to produce high-quality products.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols to ensure accurate fabrication.
  • Operate electric arc-welding equipment to produce strong and durable welds.
  • Manage shop orders and time card data entry using our manufacturing computer system.
  • Operate LP and/or electric fork trucks to gather parts and deliver finished weldments.
  • Position and clamp workpieces together or assemble them in a jig or fixture.
  • Tack assemblies together to ensure precise fit and finish.

Requirements:

  • Pass a weld test to demonstrate proficiency.
  • Ability to mig weld with precision and accuracy.
  • Tig welding experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Ability to lift 20 to 75 pounds.
  • Excellent attendance and reliability are essential.
  • Willingness to work overtime when necessary.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
