Position Purpose:

The Medical Waste Route Driver is responsible for servicing assigned accounts in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring that customers' needs are met on a continual basis. This role requires strong communication and customer service skills, as well as the ability to work independently and manage multiple routes.

The Medical Waste Route Driver will transport waste from customer locations to Stericycle facilities, following all federal, state, and local regulations. This role also involves maintaining accurate records and reporting any issues or concerns to the Transportation Supervisor or Dispatcher.

Key Job Activities:
  • Manage assigned routes to ensure timely and accurate waste collection
  • Transport waste safely and efficiently, following all regulations and guidelines
  • Communicate with customers and Stericycle staff to resolve any issues or concerns
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including DOT Driver Logs
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip maintenance on assigned vehicles
  • Report any maintenance issues or concerns to the Transportation Supervisor or Dispatcher
Requirements:
  • 6+ months of experience in driving shred/box trucks and route management
  • Valid standard driver's license (Chauffer C) with an excellent driving record
  • Ability to obtain and retain a valid Medical Examiner Card (MED)
  • Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand highway traffic signs and signals
