OverviewWe are seeking Interns who can help us provide strong, reliable, affordable electric and gas service to more than a million customers in Rhode Island, while adapting to new opportunities that are changing our industry.
As an Intern, you will be assigned to a Supervisor and/or a Coach/Mentor, and will be responsible for day-to-day tasks as well as a project that will last the duration of your assignment.
Responsibilities- Gaining experience and exposure to practical applications within the utility industry
- Working under close supervision, performing a variety of projects with specific instructions and expected results
- Presenting to a team of company employees the results of your project and overall summary of your experience
The intern will be offered opportunities in a dynamic department to learn about short and long term planning cycles for utility compliance, end-to-end process optimization, in-year and long-term capital investment planning and management, and using large and small data sets to inform tactical decision making.
Interns will work with individuals in many different Gas business departments and use field visits to understand how the data and planning connect to physical, real-world work.
Qualifications- Enrolled in a curriculum leading to a baccalaureate or master's degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university program
- Rising Junior, Senior, or graduate student
- GPA requirement: 3.00 or higher
- Eligible to work in the United States in accordance with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) regulations
- Able to provide an official student transcript and other required information
- Able to work in a team environment
- Able to demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership abilities
- Travel within the service territory may be required
- Possess a valid driver's license from state of residence
