A skilled Automotive Service Technician is needed to join our team at Pep Boys. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing tire and automotive services to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair vehicles to specifications, including brake and hydraulic, exhaust, electrical, cooling system, suspension, and alignment services.
- Perform all maintenance services and job duties of lower job descriptions (Mechanic and General Service Technician).
- Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals, including employees and customers.
- Continuously learn new technical information and techniques to stay updated with rapidly changing automotive technology.
- Assist fellow technicians/mechanics in performing technical activities and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of strong automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving, and repair experience.
- 2 or more ASE certifications (A4 Steering and Suspension & A5 Brakes) are preferred.
- Section 609 certification is preferred.
- A valid driver's license and ability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.
The physical demands of this job include frequent lifting, carrying, and placing merchandise and supplies up to 50 pounds without assistance. Frequent standing and walking for long periods of time, as well as reaching overhead and below the knees, are also required. The ability to communicate effectively, safely operate a motor vehicle, and visually verify information is essential.
