Optician Dispensing Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Optician Dispensing/LDO to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a key member of our Eye Care Service Line, you will provide technical and patient care support to our Optometry and Ophthalmology Department and Doctors.

• Analyze and interpret prescriptions, collect and interpret data, and maintain customer/patient records.
• Fit and dispense spectacles, lenses, and other ophthalmic devices, including identifying customer/patient visual requirements, recommending and demonstrating eyewear and ophthalmic products, and providing follow-up services.
• Fabricate ophthalmic products, including performing mathematical calculations, obtaining materials, processing materials, and verifying finish products.
• Operate and maintain ophthalmic equipment.
• Perform administrative duties, including maintaining inventories, processing third-party claims, and providing customer service.

• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
• Dispensing Optician License (Washington) required at hire, or American Board of Opticianry Basic Certification and National Contact Lens Examiner - Basic Certification required at hire.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Knowledge and understanding of optical and basic medical terminology.
• Computer skills in a MS Windows environment.
