We are seeking a highly skilled Primary Care Physician to join our team at Valor Healthcare. As a Primary Care Physician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to our veterans, including diagnosing and treating diseases and injuries of human internal organ systems.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and treat diseases and injuries of human internal organ systems
- Provide preventive and therapeutic treatment of primary care needs, including chronic disease management
- Perform comprehensive physical examinations and document all medical information into the patient's electronic medical record
- Develop and implement patient management plans and assist in provision of continuity of care
- Order and perform diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, laboratory tests, etc. and interpret test results for deviations from normal
- Prescribe medication and recommend dietary and activity programs as indicated by diagnosis
- Refers patient to the VA medical specialist when indicated
- Counsels patients on the use of prescription medications, educates patients, assesses mental health issues, and provides routine health maintenance
- Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada
- Completion of an accredited residency program in family medicine, or internal medicine
- 5 years of chronic disease management experience, after residency training
- Current, active, full and unrestricted license or registration as a physician in ANY state
- Board-certified in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Preventive Medicine
Valor Healthcare operates more than 50 Veteran Affairs Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) in the United States as a contractor for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). We provide a full range of medical services to veterans through the operations of CBOCs. Our comprehensive set of services includes primary care, diagnostics, laboratory, telehealth, behavioral health, and more.
This job is contingent upon contract award, client approval, completion of a favorable background investigation, and the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust / High Risk clearance.
