Radiology Technologist Job Description

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team in Franklin, Wisconsin.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Radiology Technologist to perform a variety of radiologic procedures, including general diagnostic, general fluoroscopy, and c-arm procedures. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with physicians, patients, and other staff members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Competently perform basic to advanced radiologic procedures, including positioning patients and selecting exposure factors.
  • Communicate with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, and confirm patient understanding.
  • Identify patient and label images, compare requisitions to physician's orders, and process images to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Assist and communicate with physicians, working independently outside the department as needed.
  • Prepare and maintain records, entering patient and study information into the radiology information system and documenting billing codes.
  • Serve as a technical resource, role model, and/or preceptor for students and staff, acting as a resource to staff at own facility and throughout the system.
Requirements
  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), obtained within 6 months.
  • Advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic Technology.
Working Conditions

The Radiology Technologist will work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent standing, walking, lifting, and bending. The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance is required. Personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary to protect against mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards.
