Job Summary

Epiroc Limited is seeking a skilled Welder Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining welding tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner to achieve the quality and production standards of the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain welding tools and equipment to ensure safe and efficient production.
  • Identify and report safety hazards and suggest corrective actions to prevent accidents.
  • Layout, position, and fit components into welding fixtures as instructed.
  • Set up gas-shield mig-welders and weld parts to job specifications.
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of blueprints and welding symbols to complete job assignments.
  • Use hand tools, clamps, and grinders to perform job tasks.
  • Complete basic maintenance on welding equipment.
  • Ability to weld simple assemblies without the use of fixtures.
  • Monitor and adjust robotic welders for necessary changes throughout the run to provide acceptable quality.
  • Perform all 5S duties and maintain acceptable 5S standards.
  • Perform all other duties as required to meet customer and company quality and productivity needs.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Good mathematical skills and ability to read tape measures and blueprints.
  • Demonstrated skill level of wire feed (M.I.G.) welding.
  • Able to use an oxygen/acetylene cutting torch.
  • Ability to read and understand work order outings and instructions.
  • Ability to lay out parts using weld fixtures.
Work Environment

The Welder Specialist will work in a general plant environment, requiring safety shoes and safety glasses. The position requires good manual dexterity, standing a majority of the shift, and mobility to move within the department/plant as assigned. Duties may be performed in a work environment with seasonal temperatures of high heat and/or humidity.

Physical Demands

The Welder Specialist will frequently be required to stand, walk, talk, and hear, use hands and/or fingers to handle, touch objects, assemble parts, utilize tools or controls. They must have the ability to regularly lift up to 33 pounds using proper lifting techniques, carrying and moving parts, materials, and product. Ability to perform tasks at a standard rate. They must have hand and foot coordination to control and adjust equipment or tools. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
