Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CDL Class A instructor to join our team at Roadmaster Drivers School. As a CDL Instructor, you will be responsible for mentoring students by teaching them safety skills and best practices of the trucking industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate assigned driving operations for students on a regular basis, ensuring a safe and effective learning environment.
  • Oversee the safe operation and use of equipment when being used by students, adhering to company policy and standards.
  • Supervise all assigned trainees and complete necessary documentation, including student attendance forms and training records.
  • Provide in-person daily instruction to students in the following areas: Full Pre-Trip Inspection, Basic Control Skills, and Road Driving.

Qualifications:
  • A valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with no more than two moving violations in a 12-month period, and/or no more than three moving violations in a 24-month period.
  • Minimum of 3 years over-the-road or local commercial driving experience, and/or minimum criteria required to obtain instructor licensure within the applicable jurisdiction and meet all other licensure requirements.
  • Must pass and continuously maintain a U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) physical, pass an approved DOT drug test, and hair follicle drug test (HFT), and agree to random and suspicion-based drug and alcohol screening.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with others using verbal and non-verbal/written skills.
  • Physical, intellectual, and leadership ability to deliver the company's approved training and curriculum to students in the areas of classroom, full pre-trip inspection, basic control skills, and road driving.
  • Successful completion of all required new hire onboarding and training in a timely manner, as well as continuing education as required by the company.
