Speech-Language Pathologist Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our school-based team in Viola, DE.

Key Responsibilities:
  • SLP:
    • Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in students.
    • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results.
    • Provide direct therapy services to students, both individually and in group settings.
    • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate therapy goals into the classroom environment.
    • Participate in IEP meetings, contributing to the development and review of student-specific goals and objectives.
    • Monitor and document student progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
  • SLPA:
    • Assist the SLP in conducting speech and language screenings.
    • Implement therapy activities designed by the SLP.
    • Document student progress and report findings to the SLP.
    • Prepare materials and assist in maintaining therapy equipment.
    • Collaborate with the SLP and other school staff to support students' therapy goals.
Qualifications:
  • SLP:
    • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
    • Valid SLP license or certification in Delaware.
    • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred.
  • SLPA:
    • Associates degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistance or a related field.
    • Valid SLPA certification or license in Delaware.
    • Experience working in a school setting is highly desirable.
