Job Summary:
The University of Maryland Medical System is seeking a skilled Emergency Department/Observation Technician to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.
Main Function:
- Assist in the delivery of patient care under the clinical supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN).
- Direct care activities are delegated by the Registered Nurse and consistent with the Maryland Board of Nursing-Nurse Practice Act.
- Direct care includes activities involving the care and nutrition of patients, provision of direct observation, and transportation of patients and documentation of those activities.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including vital sign measurements, wound care, and other activities as delegated by the Registered Nurse.
- Assist with patient transportation and transfers.
- Document patient care activities and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient care.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
