Railcar Repairman Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Railcar Repairman to join our team at our Savannah, Georgia facility. As a Railcar Repairman, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and replacing defective or worn components on railcar equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and repair railcar equipment, including truck assembly, safety appliances, brake systems, wheels, and draft systems
  • Diagnose and identify malfunctions in railcar equipment
  • Inspect bearings, seals, gaskets, wheels, and coupler assemblies to determine if repairs are needed
  • Test and operate engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
  • Clean railcar units and components
Requirements:
  • Experience with hand tools and previous railcar repair and/or mechanic experience desired
  • Familiarity with welding a plus
  • The desire to work hard and grow with a great company
