Tenet-AZ Region is seeking an Advanced Medical Imaging Specialist for a job in Tucson, Arizona. The ideal candidate will have experience with MRI technology and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Job Overview

This position involves operating a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images used by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and positioning patients, selecting technical parameters, and producing high-quality images.

Responsibilities
  • Prepares and positions patients accurately to produce cross-sectional images of the body.
  • Selects anatomic and technical parameters to produce high-quality images.
  • Performs patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination.
  • Enters and monitors patient data, transfers images from disk to magnetic media, and develops film in an automatic processor.
  • FOLLOWING RADIATION SAFETY PROCEDURES AND GUIDELINES.
  • PERFORMS MRI PROCEDURES UTILIZING A VARIETY OF FREQUENCIES, PLANES, AND TECHNIQUES.
  • Collects pertinent patient history and documents on requisition.
  • Completes pre-MRI screening questionnaire to assess suitability for magnetic environment.
  • Starts intravenous access as needed, and performs intravenous injections using proper technique.
  • Maintains proper oxygen therapy on patients who require oxygen.
  • Maintains skills required to change oxygen tanks.
  • Must be familiar with the use of masks and nasal canulae.
  • Adjusts rate of O2 flow with mask/nasal cannula according to written physician orders. Secures, transports, and secures e-cylinders.
  • Recognizes and responds to emergencies and life-threatening situations.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Certification Required: ARRT- MR, or obtain MR certification within 2 years of hire/transfer date.
  • Certification Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association.
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited radiology or accredited MRI program.
  • Work Experience: None preferred, but one (1) year experience as a MR Technologist is beneficial.
Benefits

The selected candidate will enjoy a competitive salary range of $85,000-$110,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications. Additional benefits include a sign-on bonus and a comprehensive compensation package.
