About the Role

Hospital for Behavioral Medicine is seeking a skilled Recreation Therapist to join our team in Cherry Valley, Massachusetts.

This is a full-time role with a competitive compensation range of $24 - $32 hourly.

We're looking for an experienced professional who can provide exceptional care and contribute to the well-being of individuals and families in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement activity services for assigned programs, defining and implementing treatment goals as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
  • Provide continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling to patients.
  • Assess patients' psychosocial and leisure skills development/deficiency and provide interventions based on their plan of care.
  • Communicate changes in patients' condition to Charge Nurse or Program Director.
  • Document services rendered in accordance with established criteria.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Occupational, Recreation therapy, humanities, social work, or a related therapeutic discipline.
  • Certification or licensure by state and/or national governing body in occupational or recreation therapy.
  • One (1) year of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness.
  • Successful completion of CPR Certification and Preventative Management Aggressive Behavior Training.
