Position Summary:
The Civil/Structural Engineering Project Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing the civil and structural design aspects of large-scale utility and industrial projects. This position demands a seasoned professional with extensive experience in managing complex engineering tasks, ensuring that all design-related challenges are effectively addressed throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the coordination and evaluation of civil and structural engineering tasks performed by subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project specifications and requirements.
- Conduct thorough reviews of engineering deliverables, focusing on value engineering, constructability, and overall accuracy.
- Analyze geotechnical and subsurface investigation reports to inform design decisions.
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams to ensure timely and budget-conscious completion of engineering efforts.
- Provide technical leadership in the review of design plans, specifications, and details related to civil, foundation, and structural engineering.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards and codes during the design review process.
- Participate in client meetings and design reviews, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Assist in the preparation of preliminary reports, design criteria documents, and other essential deliverables during project development.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess a minimum of 15 years of experience in the design of substation and industrial process facilities. A strong technical foundation in civil and structural engineering is essential, along with proven experience in managing large-scale projects. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required, and while a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is preferred, it is not mandatory.
