About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Commercial HVAC Service Technician to join our team at Blue Collar Services in Providence, Rhode Island. As a Commercial HVAC Service Technician, you will provide high-quality service, maintenance, repairs, and installation for commercial HVAC systems.

This is a full-time position with an estimated first-year potential salary range of $65K - $120K, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package including:

Key Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC-R systems, including ductwork, refrigerant management, and system diagnostics.
  • Full-scale AC, Heating & Refrigeration installations, including equipment removal and new installs, duct repair/replacement, venting flues, and soldering.
  • Refrigeration system parameter measurement and interpretation, including gas pressures, temperatures, static pressure, and CFM delivery.
  • Collaboration with inspectors, suppliers, and team members to ensure compliance with local codes and regulations.
  • Client-focused recommendations for repairs or replacements to ensure satisfaction and long-term system reliability.
  • Effective communication with dispatchers, supervisors, and customers throughout the repair or installation process.
  • Mentoring and training junior team members.
  • Professional representation of the company in all customer and team interactions.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • At least 5 years of commercial HVAC service and maintenance experience.
  • A High school diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal HVAC codes and ability to apply them in practice.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with digital communication tools, including instant messaging and job tracking applications.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations while maintaining professionalism.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Dependability, self-motivation, and ability to work year-round in various environmental conditions.
  • A valid Driver's License and ability to maintain insurability under the company policy.

Licenses

You must possess:

  • Rhode Island HVAC License: Active or obtainable upon hiring.
  • Rhode Island Refrigeration License: Valid.
