Job SummaryThe Registered Nurse - Emergency Room at Beaufort Memorial Hospital supports the philosophy of nursing by planning and coordinating care for a group of patients within their area. This individual has the responsibility to direct ancillary personnel for implementation of the patient's plan of care and has satisfactorily mastered the basic skills in the assigned area.
The scope of nursing practice is focused on an assigned group of patients and encompasses charge responsibilities as assigned. The nurse performs within the limits of the SC Nurse Practice Act, Code of Ethics for nurses, hospital policies and procedures, and Nursing Standards of Practice.
Responsibilities- Plan and coordinate care for a group of patients within their area
- Direct ancillary personnel for implementation of the patient's plan of care
- Master basic skills in the assigned area
- Perform within the limits of the SC Nurse Practice Act, Code of Ethics for nurses, hospital policies and procedures, and Nursing Standards of Practice
- Ability to obtain and maintain a South Carolina Nursing License
- Previous experience preferred
- Current South Carolina RN license
- BLS certification required prior to first clinical shift (must be issued by the American Heart Association)
- ACLS certification required. New grads must obtain ACLS within 6 months of hire
- PALS, CEN, TNCC, and ENPC preferred
