Position Overview

Peraton is seeking a skilled Information Technology Specialist (ITS) to deliver comprehensive monitoring services for servers, applications, systems, and databases. The ITS will also be responsible for providing desktop support, which includes setting up workstations and managing password assignments. Additionally, the ITS will implement configuration changes and updates across all servers and workstations. Monitoring the status of network routers and switches, responding to network alerts, and addressing related issues will also be key responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor servers, applications, systems, and databases to ensure optimal performance.
  • Provide desktop support, including workstation setup and password management.
  • Deploy configuration changes and perform updates on all servers and workstations.
  • Oversee network router and switch status, respond to alarms, and troubleshoot associated problems.

Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the following areas:
  • Monitoring servers, applications, systems, and databases.
  • Providing desktop support, including workstation setup and password management.
  • Deploying configuration changes and updates on servers and workstations.
  • Monitoring network router/switch status and responding to network alarms.

Applicants must hold an active Top Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain SCI and polygraph.

Education Requirements:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in one of the following fields: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer and Information Security, Computer Security, or Network Administration from an accredited institution. A Master's degree in Computer Science or a related scientific/technical field is also acceptable. Additional education, training, certifications, or relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

General Experience

The ITS should have five (5) years of experience in deploying network configurations, conducting test/troubleshooting activities, planning and executing patch management strategies, and maintaining version control of systems such as VMWare, OpenStack, Microsoft Windows, Linux, and Mac/Unix based systems.

Experience in configuring and troubleshooting both local and remote systems, virtualization, Active Directory, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Domain Name System (DNS), Distributed File System (DFS), and File and Printer servers is essential.

The typical salary range for this position is $135,000 - $216,000, reflecting the experience and qualifications of the candidate.
