Aircraft Mechanic Job Description

This position is for a highly skilled Aircraft Mechanic to join our team at Army National Guard Units. As an Aircraft Mechanic, you will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and performing overall maintenance, servicing, inspections, and documentation for one or more highly technical, high-performance military aircraft.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure Unit Level Logistics-Aviation (ULLS-A) and other aircraft documentation accurately reflect the status and airworthiness of assigned aircraft.
  • Clear Red X status symbols on aircraft forms for work performed by others.
  • Plan, develop, and conduct proficiency training during the technician work week to a multi-faceted workforce comprised of Full Time Support (FTS) and supported unit personnel.
  • Prepare for and participate in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization, and support exercises.
Requirements:
  • Enlisted (E1 to E7) military grade.
  • Experience or training that has provided the candidate with the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts, accessories, and components, and to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications.
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools and test equipment.
  • At least 3 years of experience or training installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting, and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification.
  • Experience coordinating the work of other mechanics, and scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow.
