Job Summary

The Building Services Worker I is a key member of the facilities team at Codman Square Health Center, responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and attractive environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This role involves performing a variety of tasks related to housekeeping, grounds keeping, and maintenance, ensuring the facility operates in optimum fashion every day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Housekeeping: Perform daily scheduled opening tasks, including collecting and packaging bio-hazardous waste, ensuring flags are hung, and conducting regular routine housekeeping tasks such as cleaning assigned spaces, setting up event spaces, and replenishing supplies.
  • Grounds Keeping: Maintain flower beds and lawns by raking, weeding, planting/transplanting plants, watering, mulching, mowing, and trimming. Ensure delivery access to the rear entrance and orderly use of employee parking.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine and general maintenance tasks, including making general repairs, minor plumbing and electrical repairs, and communicating needs for maintenance or repair as noticed or requested by staff.
Qualifications
  • Experience, knowledge, and ability to complete all housekeeping, maintenance, and grounds keeping duties.
  • Housekeeping, grounds keeping, and maintenance skills are required.
  • Must have the physical capacity to complete said responsibilities.
  • Must have a valid driver's license in good standing, without any restrictions or major driving violations.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
