Position Overview:

The Industrial Equipment Maintenance Technician is tasked with the upkeep and repair of manufacturing machinery within the organization. This position plays a critical role in ensuring optimal machine performance through regular maintenance and effective troubleshooting. The technician will also engage in ongoing improvement projects and collaborate with kaizen teams.


This role requires close interaction with both external suppliers and various internal departments, including health and safety, engineering, supply chain management, and production.


Preventive Maintenance Responsibilities:
• Execute installation, repair, and maintenance of machinery and mechanical systems through systematic preventive maintenance.

• Disassemble machinery to replace defective components as necessary.

• Conduct inspections and measurements using various tools to assess part wear and compatibility.

• Manage inventory of equipment parts and supplies by monitoring stock levels and placing orders.

• Provide mechanical maintenance insights by addressing inquiries and requests.

• Uphold a safe and organized workshop environment by adhering to established procedures.

• Confirm that machinery is operational before coordinating with production teams to resume operations.

Troubleshooting and Repair Duties:
• Test electrical circuits with a Volt-Ohmmeter, tracing both signal pathways and operational functionality.

• Identify potential issues by observing mechanical devices during operation.

• Maintain necessary parts, tools, schematics, and other resources to ensure safe and prompt repairs.

• Reassemble machinery and equipment post-repair, conducting operational tests and adjustments as required.

• Perform routine maintenance and safety inspections.

• Communicate effectively with the production team while maintaining a tidy work environment.

• Ensure machinery is in a ready state prior to collaborating with manufacturing to resume production activities.
