Corporate Laboratory Technician

Robin Industries, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Corporate Laboratory Technician to join our team. As a key member of our production process, you will be responsible for conducting research and development of new materials and applications, as well as interfacing with internal and external customers.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform tasks in an R&D laboratory environment, including rubber mixing, processing, sample preparation, physical testing, and chemical testing.
- Weigh, mix, and mill rubber compounds, and perform various physical tests and/or chemical analysis using specialized equipment/instrumentation.
- Work with chemicals and in an area that may have some nuisance fumes, dust, heat, and noise.
- Troubleshoot equipment, software, and/or processes.
- Communicate with internal customers and complete work considering priority and turnaround goals.
- Evaluate design and validate materials and processes to improve productivity.
- Contribute to the pre-production approval process and maintain high-quality standards of work.
- Interface with inside and outside lab personnel to perform inter/intra lab testing and validate incoming materials from vendors and certify outgoing production materials.
- Interface directly with customers for improvement of product and assist in other areas where trained with limited supervision.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associates degree in a related area preferred.
- 2+ years of related experience.
- Rubber molding experience.
- 1-2 years of mechanical and/or testing rubber/polymer work experience preferred.
- Familiarity with applicable regulations (i.e. REACH, RoHS, CA Prop 65).
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, use hands to position or move, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
- The employee frequently is required to stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
