About the Position

The University of Georgia's College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a visionary and energetic leader to serve as the next Department Head of Population Health. This is a tenure-track position that requires a strong record of achievement in scholarly work and professional or graduate education, as well as evidence of effective leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the Department of Population Health in its academic missions, including instruction, research, and clinical service.
  • Manage the department's fiscal resources and facilities in compliance with all applicable regulations and policies.
  • Promote the success and career progression of faculty, staff, and students.
  • Hire and supervise departmental faculty and staff.
Requirements
  • DVM (or equivalent) or PhD degree.
  • Accomplishments to qualify for hire at the rank of tenured Professor.
  • Demonstrable success in budgetary and administrative management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced graduate degree (MS or PhD).
  • Board certification in an appropriate veterinary specialty.
  • Evidence of the study of animal populations.
