Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Geisinger Health System. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing patients' respiratory care needs and developing effective treatment plans to meet those needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform thorough patient assessments to identify respiratory care needs
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to meet patient needs
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care
  • Administer aerosolized medications, manage secretions, and perform other therapeutic modalities as needed
  • Initiate and manage mechanical ventilators, including conventional and high-frequency ventilation
  • Provide patient and family education on disease management and respiratory care
  • Assist with intra-hospital transport of mechanically ventilated patients
  • Participate in emergency airway management and other critical care situations
  • Set up and manage non-invasive monitoring equipment, including ETCO monitors and pulse oximeters
  • Collect and process arterial blood gas samples using point-of-care analyzers
Requirements
  • Graduate of a specialty training program in respiratory therapy
  • Basic Life Support Certification
  • Member of the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
  • S.T.A.B.L.E. Certified
