Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Dishwasher at Morningside of Vestavia Hills. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen and dining areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Sanitizing: Wash and inspect all dishware and glassware, and store them in their proper places.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Keep the dish washing machine and dish room in clean operating condition, and promptly report any malfunctions or breakdowns to the Food Service Manager.
  • Housekeeping: Sweep and mop the kitchen area and waitstaff station, and clean the filter over the stove area.
  • Logistics: Deliver ice to the dining room, and may assist waitstaff with serving and bringing in dishes to the kitchen, as needed.
  • Cleaning Assignments: Perform assigned cleaning assignments according to established policies, and utilize the proper cleaning chemicals.
  • Work Area Maintenance: Keep work areas clean and uncluttered, and ensure that dishes are readily available for the next meal.
  • Storage and Organization: Store dishes in the proper location in a way to prevent contamination.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively to fulfill position responsibilities.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work in a team environment, work flexible shifts, and communicate effectively with coworkers.
  • Equipment Familiarity: Familiarity with equipment such as dishwashers, mops, dish scrubbers, and cleaning chemicals.
