Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist at American Family Care, you will play a critical role in assisting physicians in diagnosing injuries and diseases by performing radiographic and other diagnostic imaging procedures. Your responsibilities will include greeting patients, explaining procedures, positioning patients for diagnostic imaging, and practicing ALARA radiation protection techniques. You will also be responsible for processing images, reviewing for proper identification and quality control, and preparing images for reading by a physician and radiologist overreads. Additionally, you will utilize digital and non-digital diagnostic imaging equipment, ensuring compliance with approved radiology techniques and policies. Your duties will also include aiding providers with prescribed patient treatments, performing routine maintenance, diagnosing malfunctions, and making minor repairs on equipment. You will also be responsible for completing forms and maintaining records, logs, and reports of work performed. If needed, you will serve as a Medical Receptionist and/or Medical Assistant within appropriate guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and explain procedures to patients in a compassionate manner
- Position patients appropriately for diagnostic imaging procedures
- Practice ALARA radiation protection techniques
- Process images, review for proper identification and quality control, and prepare images for reading by a physician and radiologist overreads
- Utilize digital and non-digital diagnostic imaging equipment, ensuring compliance with approved radiology techniques and policies
- Aid providers with prescribed patient treatments in accordance with approved standards, policies, procedures, and protocol as necessary
- Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and make minor repairs on equipment, arranging for repairs as needed
- Complete forms and maintain records, logs, and reports of work performed
- Serve as Medical Receptionist and/or Medical Assistant if/when needed within appropriate guidelines
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or six months to one-year related experience and/or training
- ARRT-registered or board eligible preferred
- Licensed per state regulation
Compensation
$28.00 per hour
