Facilities Maintenance Technician

About the Position

Under the direction of an assigned manager or designee, performs skilled and semi-skilled work in the maintenance and repair of County buildings and grounds; performs limited janitorial duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs scheduled and emergency building, equipment maintenance, and repair work on County buildings and grounds.
• Installs and repairs wiring, switches, light ballasts, and other electrical systems.
• May perform diagnostic testing in order to determine maintenance needs as necessary.
• Performs light carpentry in the maintenance of assigned buildings.
• Repairs furniture, builds shelving units and assists in minor remodeling of buildings.

Requirements

• Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12th) grade.
• A minimum of one (1) year experience in a maintenance related field.
