Job Summary

South Shore Health is seeking a skilled Physician to join our team as a Primary Care Specialist. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and managing a specified patient population.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for a specified patient population.
• Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
• Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.
• Manages patient medications and prescribes appropriate medications as needed.
• Orders and interprets laboratory studies, x-rays, and other diagnostic tests.
• Makes referrals to other healthcare providers for comprehensive patient care.
• Establishes a therapeutic patient-healthcare provider relationship.
• Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
• Documents patient clinical activities clearly, concisely, and within the expected time frames as outlined in the Medical Records Completion and Documentation Policy.

Requirements

• Medical Doctor Degree; residency program
• State licensure, Board Certification or board eligible in area of expertise. Federal DEA license. ALS certification
• Preferably at least 3 years of directly related experience which may include residency in a directly related medical specialty.
