Position Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and results-oriented Director of Category Management to spearhead our initiatives in overseeing indirect categories and professional services. This role is crucial in enhancing our procurement strategies, achieving cost efficiencies, and ensuring top-notch service delivery across various non-core sectors. The successful candidate will have a profound understanding of indirect procurement, outstanding leadership skills, and a proven history of managing intricate supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Formulate and implement category management strategies for indirect categories and professional services, ensuring alignment with the organization's objectives.
- Supplier Management: Cultivate and sustain robust relationships with key suppliers, negotiate agreements, and ensure adherence to established terms and conditions.
- Cost Optimization: Discover opportunities for cost reduction and process enhancements, utilizing market analysis and industry best practices to drive efficiencies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to comprehend their needs and requirements, ensuring effective communication and execution of procurement strategies.
- Market Analysis: Perform comprehensive market research and analysis to remain updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
- Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of category management strategies and supplier performance.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with supplier relationships and procurement activities.
- Team Leadership: Guide and mentor a team of category managers and procurement professionals, promoting a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in category management, with a strong emphasis on indirect categories and professional services.
- Demonstrated success in supplier management, contract negotiation, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a capacity for data-driven decision-making.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the capability to inspire and develop a high-performing team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Familiarity with procurement software and tools, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
