Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Travel Nurse RN to join our esteemed team at C0003 Franciscan Health Olympia Fields. This role is pivotal in delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Certification Requirements
  • Essential Skills: Candidates must possess the required certifications; those lacking these qualifications will not be considered.
Job Specifications

The unit profile is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the operational environment. It includes:

  • Location: Emergency Room
  • Bed Capacity: 33
  • Staffing: 85 personnel
Experience Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years of current experience in the Emergency Department is required.
  • BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications are mandatory.
  • PALS certification is preferred.
  • Candidates must successfully pass an EKG examination.
Work Schedule
  • Shift Hours: 7 p.m. - 7:30 a.m.
  • On-call Duties: No on-call requirements.
  • Weekend Shifts: Every other weekend.
Unit Specifics

The Emergency Room operates with the following structure:

  • Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 9 nurses, 3 PCTs (CNA), 2 sitters.
  • Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 9 nurses, 3 PCTs (CNA), 2 sitters.

Patient Ratios: 4:1, occasionally 5:1 during critical situations.

Equipment and Technology
  • Monitoring Systems: Philips monitors.
  • Electronic Medical Records: EPIC.
Typical Procedures

Common procedures performed include:

  • Chest tube insertion
  • Central line and arterial line placement
  • Sedation and rapid infusion
  • Wound care and targeted temperature management
  • EKG monitoring
Dress Code

Uniform guidelines are as follows:

  • Scrub Color: Navy
  • No artificial nails or long hair that obstructs vision.
  • No open-toed shoes or scrubs with holes.
  • Only navy scrub jackets are permitted.
