Laboratory Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Director to join our team at Memorial Healthcare System. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring alignment with departmental and organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement specific departmental goals, plans, and regulatory standards that directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of current instrumentation, procedural, regulatory, and billing activity that applies to the department.
- Monitor departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations.
- Determine and justify needs for systems/equipment/supplies purchases, monitor usage, and oversee proper working order and/or stock supplies.
- Develop training material and competency assessment tools used by the department and ensure that all associated documentation is kept up-to-date.
- May report test results in a timely manner according to established laboratory protocols.
- Prepare policies and procedures required to keep the department in compliance with regulatory standards and inspection ready at all times.
- Investigate and recommend testing procedures to be used in the department in conjunction with the Medical and Laboratory directors.
- May act as the Laboratory Director when necessary.
- Manage staff relations, including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management.
- Perform and oversee scheduling, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Clinical Lab Supervisor License (SU LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL).
- Advanced knowledge of laboratory procedures and instrumentation.
- Advanced knowledge of laboratory information systems.
- Critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
The Laboratory Director will work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with a high level of complexity. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
