The Bulk Cheese Handler is a key member of the production team at Great Lakes Cheese, responsible for preparing and cutting product to meet customer requirements while adhering to company policies on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to sanitation and safety standards.
- Receive and inspect cheese shipments, ensuring accurate inventory and quality control.
- Weigh and measure cheese as required, utilizing precision equipment to meet customer specifications.
- Allocate and package cheese for customer orders, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment.
- Conduct regular quality checks, identifying and addressing any defects or issues.
- Collaborate with production team members to maintain efficient workflow and minimize downtime.
- Operate various equipment, including cutters and lifting devices, with precision and attention to safety protocols.
- Load cheese into processing machines, ensuring accurate and efficient production.
- Pack and seal trim, adhering to quality and safety standards.
- Review order specifications and perform quality checks, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively with production team members on orders, quality, and safety issues.
- Enter data on production reports, providing accurate and timely information.
- Address safety concerns and issues with production team members, promoting a safe working environment.
- Perform handheld functions and operate pallet trucks, as required.
- Rotate to different positions as needed, demonstrating adaptability and a willingness to learn.
