We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at PhysicianOne Urgent Care. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our clinical team.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patient rooms, set up instruments and equipment according to protocol
- Obtain pertinent clinical information, including patient complaints, health history, and vital signs
- Document all patient-related communication and interventions in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Prepare for procedures and treatments according to established specifications
- Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments
- Perform CLIA-waived lab tests, draw blood, and collect, label, and process specimens for laboratory testing
- Perform diagnostic tests, including eye exams, EKG, pulse oximetry, peak flow, and throat and nasal swabs
- Monitor patient flow from waiting room to exam room and throughout the visit
- Maintain HIPAA confidentiality at all times
- Training provided to offer a firm understanding of spirometry, audiometry, respiratory fit testing, and DOT physicals
- Provide exceptional customer service and deliver top-notch patient experience
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment and maintain a positive attitude
- Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure seamless patient care
- High School graduate or GED equivalent required
- Successful completion of an accredited medical assisting program required
- 1-2 years of experience in a Medical Assisting role required
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant preferred
- Maintain knowledge of medical terminology and standards of care
- Knowledge of computerized information services (EMR) used in clinical management settings preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a strong commitment to customer service and excellence in healthcare
- $18-25 hourly (based on experience)
