Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team on a short-term assignment basis. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide professional respiratory therapy services to children and young adults with complex medical needs.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver a full range of respiratory therapy care based on physician's orders and the child's care plan.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records as defined by respiratory therapy standards of practice and ChildServe policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with children, physicians, families, and staff to ensure assigned child's care needs are assessed, communicated, and met.
  • Stay current with all unit and ChildServe specific information.
  • Provide respiratory and related training to children, families, and staff as needed.
Requirements
  • Certification from an accredited respiratory therapy program and current licensure to practice in the state of Iowa.
  • Documentation of current CPR/BLS certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
  • Ventilator experience required.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the assigned work area, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
  • Ability to understand and communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
