KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Traffic Management Specialist is responsible for establishing a secure work environment that keeps traffic clear of construction activities. This includes the setup and removal of temporary signage, cones, variable message boards, and safety barriers to guide vehicles safely around the work zone. The role requires constant vigilance regarding both construction and traffic conditions.
Main Duties Include:
Assist in creating a safe work area by acting as a Flagger when necessary. Arrange signs, cones, and other devices around work sites to redirect traffic. Comply with all safety regulations and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety boots, hard hats, and vests. Follow all company policies and procedures diligently. Communicate effectively with contractors, colleagues, and supervisors while managing job site materials and documentation. Perform additional tasks as assigned. Implement traffic control plans and techniques for both installation and removal. Interpret plans and specifications accurately and apply them in the field. Collaborate with team members to develop effective solutions. Design and execute temporary traffic control strategies to ensure safety for workers, motorists, and pedestrians. Supervise flaggers to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) standards.Candidates must demonstrate reliability and a willingness to engage in physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions. Physical requirements include:
Frequent lifting and carrying of materials weighing up to 50-90 pounds.
Ability to operate a vehicle in stop-and-go conditions consistently. Continuous engagement in lifting, standing, walking, turning, kneeling, reaching, and other physical activities.
