About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at the University of California. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the advancement of nuclear medicine technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care and Education
    • Conduct thorough patient interviews and provide personalized instruction and care
    • Develop and implement effective patient education programs to promote health and wellness
  • Radiopharmaceutical Preparation and Administration
    • Prepare and quality control radiopharmaceutical compounds to ensure accuracy and safety
    • Administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients under the direction of licensed medical professionals
  • Imaging and Therapeutic Procedures
    • Operate and maintain complex imaging equipment, including scintillation cameras and PET scanners
    • Perform imaging and therapeutic procedures, including computer processing and image enhancement
  • Lab Testing and Quality Assurance
    • Conduct laboratory testing to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment
    • Participate in quality assurance programs to maintain high standards of patient care
Requirements
  • Education and Certification
    • Valid certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Board (NMTCB) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
    • Valid licensure in Nuclear Medicine Technology by the Department of Health Services, Radiologic Health Branch, State of California
  • Skills and Experience
    • Strong knowledge of radiation physics and safety regulations
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and logs
