Electrician Journeyman NCCER Certified

Brown & Root is seeking a highly skilled Electrician Journeyman NCCER Certified to join our team in a long-term maintenance position. As an Electrician Journeyman, you will be responsible for planning, laying out, installing, and repairing wiring, conduit, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment.

• Prepare detailed sketches and diagrams to ensure accurate installation of electrical systems.
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit using various tools.
• Pull wiring through conduit, assisted by a helper.
• Splice wires by stripping insulation, twisting or soldering, and applying tape or terminal caps.
• Connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment using hand tools.
• Install control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.
• Connect power cables to equipment and install grounding leads.
• Test continuity of circuits to ensure electrical compatibility and safety.
• Observe functioning of installed equipment or systems to identify hazards and need for adjustments or replacement.
• Disassemble and repair defective electrical equipment or systems.
• Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Maintain tools and equipment.
• Distinguish colors.
• Knowledge of procedures such as LOTO (Lockout/Tagout).
• Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules.

• Rate information using personal judgment or standards that can be measured or checked.
• Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
• Perform a variety of duties that may change often.
• Perform arithmetical operations rapidly and accurately.
• See detail in objects or drawings as 3-dimensional objects.

May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
