Position Overview

Peraton is seeking a dedicated Malware Analyst to support critical cybersecurity operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a representative for USCYBERCOM, providing essential requirements and integration support for malware examination.
  • Utilize dynamic analysis and reverse engineering techniques to dissect and comprehend malware behavior.
  • Generate comprehensive malware reports to assist in identifying and mitigating future cyber threats.
  • Contribute to malware analysis initiatives that support the delivery of Mission Assurance (MA) products, facilitating evaluations and reporting on malware in cyberspace operations.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on assigned Workflow Management System (WMS) malware tasks, engaging in technical discussions to influence malware analysis strategies.
  • Participate in the development and certification of System Security Plans (SSP) for new malware analysis systems.
Qualifications:
  • Possess mid-to-senior level experience as a Malware Analyst, with expertise in advanced cyberspace technologies.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in the governance and policy oversight of Malware Analysis activities.
  • Work under consultative direction towards established Mission Assurance goals; assignments are often self-initiated.
  • Research and maintain proficiency in tools, techniques, countermeasures, and trends related to computer and network vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct in-depth research on software and methodologies to enhance defensive and offensive capabilities for USCYBERCOM.
  • Perform system analysis and reverse engineering on various platforms, including Windows, Android, and UNIX.
  • Exhibit strong programming skills in C/C++ and Assembly language, along with knowledge of vulnerability analysis and exploit development.
  • Design malware detection frameworks and conduct vulnerability assessments of information systems.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in malware analysis or engineering.
  • DoD 8140/DoD 8570 IAM Level II Certification, CSSP Incident Responder, or CSSP Infrastructure Support.
  • U.S. citizenship with an active TS/SCI security clearance.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with source code, hex, binary analysis, and data correlation techniques.
  • Understanding of security concepts, protocols, and incident handling processes.
  • Ability to develop and analyze Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO) and Offensive Cyberspace Operations (OCO) solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
