Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated professional to deliver exceptional group and individual therapeutic services to individuals with psychiatric conditions. As a vital member of our interdisciplinary treatment team, you will support the overarching treatment philosophy of Aurora San Diego, ensuring the provision of high-quality therapeutic interventions.

Compensation: $27/hr. to $35/hr.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments to gather patient history and identify initial treatment needs through effective interviewing techniques.
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions utilizing diverse therapeutic modalities aligned with your professional training.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings to contribute insights from an adjunctive therapy perspective, including expressive, recreational, and life skills therapies.
  • Report any patient-related concerns to relevant community or state agencies as necessary.
  • Uphold ethical standards consistent with Aurora's values in all professional conduct.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, infection control measures, and security policies within the facility.
  • Engage in activities that meet internal and external customer service expectations.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., recreation therapy, music therapy, occupational therapy, or a related discipline).
  • Master's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., art therapy, dance/movement therapy, drama therapy).
  • Certification in relevant areas is preferred.
  • Experience in mental health settings is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of acute psychological disorders and advanced principles of abnormal psychology.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification for Healthcare Providers in accordance with American Heart Association guidelines.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degrees in relevant fields.
  • Certification in relevant areas is preferred.
  • Experience in mental health settings is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of acute psychological disorders and advanced principles of abnormal psychology.
