Job Summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Safety Companion to join our team. As a Safety Companion, you will be responsible for providing patient monitoring and support under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This is a full-time, night shift position in our float pool.

Responsibilities
  • Remain at the bedside of assigned patients at all times unless relieved by an appropriate staff member.
  • Provide calming and reorienting conversation with patients in cases of patient agitation or confusion.
  • Identify and remove hazards from the patient and patient environment, and report as appropriate.
  • May assist patients with performing activities of daily living, as delegated by supervising RN.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
