About the Role

Lovelace Biomedical Research Institute is seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Pathologist to join our team of researchers dedicated to advancing human health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and interpret microscopic changes from various animal models of disease
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to personnel in the necropsy, histology, and clinical pathology groups
  • Supervise and oversee the development and evaluation of disease models and safety/efficacy studies
  • Support and develop investigator-initiated sponsored research programs
Requirements
  • Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine or comparable degree from an AVMA accredited program
  • Residency training as a Veterinary Pathologist
  • Minimum of 2 years of directly-related experience in toxicological pathology
  • Board Certification from the American College of Veterinary Pathologists
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in biomedical science
  • Previous experience in industry or contract research organization (CRO) settings
  • Prior experience in infectious disease research and/or animal disease model development, toxicologic and/or infectious disease pathology
Work Environment

The Veterinary Pathologist will work in a wet laboratory environment, operating standard laboratory equipment and frequently standing, walking, sitting, and performing lab- and desk-based computer tasks.
