Position Overview:
Corewell Health System is seeking a dedicated pediatric cardiac critical care physician to enhance our expanding program. The ideal candidate will possess a strong initiative and leadership qualities, holding fellowship training and board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Critical Care, complemented by advanced training in Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care or substantial clinical experience with pediatric cardiac patients.
Responsibilities:
- Engage in the education of residents and fellows as part of the role.
- Contribute to our specialized 15-bed Sedation Unit, where sedation and procedures are performed.
As a key academic partner of Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, we offer academic appointments for qualified candidates and robust support for research initiatives.
Practice Environment:
Our collaborative team of twenty-one critical care physicians, including seasoned and mid-career professionals, provides care for a diverse array of high-acuity patients. The new physician will integrate into a busy 30-bed unit, which includes 6 dedicated cardiac critical care beds. Our cardiac surgical program conducts approximately 250 surgical procedures annually and has recently achieved UNOS certification for our heart transplant program. The successful candidate will benefit from a supportive leadership structure, opportunities for professional development, and research support.
Qualifications:
- Medical Degree (MD or DO)
- Active M.D. or D.O. license (eligible in Michigan)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification specific to SHMG within 90 days
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
