As a Surgical Technician at Dayton Children's Hospital, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our pediatric surgical department. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the surgeon in the intraoperative phase, adhering to AORN and OSA standards of practice. You will collaborate with other healthcare team members to provide exceptional patient care, while maintaining a cost-effective approach. Your excellent communication skills and positive attitude will make you a valuable asset to our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the surgeon in maintaining sterile technique and preparing for each procedure with age-appropriate instrumentation and supplies.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to meet the patients' needs in a cost-effective manner.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare team members.
- Participate in quality improvement activities to meet departmental goals.
- Maintain a positive and flexible attitude, functioning as a team player and role model.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in Surgical Technology is required.
- Must be a graduate from an Accredited Surgical Technical school.
- Certified Instrument Specialist - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (CIS) is preferred.
- CPR is preferred at hire, but must be obtained within 2 weeks of start date.
